Sitsongpeenong Videos
Posted in Sitsongpeenong on November 18, 2010
While i was at Sitsongpenong i took the time to capture some video of the three nak muays who were going to fight within the next month. Tim the owner explined to me that they are still not training hard and they will be pushed far more harder to peak in the following weeks. One little boy stood out alot. His name is Jomhod Sitsongpeenong. He is only 14 and is tiny. What impressed me was the amount of cardio and energy this little guy had. I watched as he did round after round on the pads. This young boy has had over 100 fights. Tim says he may not win them all, but he is always an entertaining fighter when he steps in the ring.
You’ll see in the next clip that they have been working his knees “A LOT”. Each day i went there Jomhod must have done 3-4 rounds concentrating on his knees.
After the kneeing rounds Jomhod would go onto a regular pad round for 4 mins followed by 1 min of pure knees and then 50 kicks on each leg! After this he even goes onto doing rounds on the focus mitts! Tim the owner told me that Jomhod has cardio for days and once he starts fighting at a larger weight and is allowed to fight for longer rounds, his opponents will not be able to keep up with him.
Here are some Focus Mitt rounds with one of the Thai boys. You’ll notice he is using a low kick to the lead leg when the pad holder commits to a punch. this is something i love to do in sparring. It can make some people fall flat on their face. Give it a try next time someone lays a barrage of punches on you.
Here’s some clips of Mapichit. Only 15 years of age and fighting for a Lumpinee belt on the 7th of December 2010
And now the star of Sitsongpeenong, Kem.
And now Clinching Time

Nice bro – the trainer holding for Kem has a differant holding style – i like it. 1/2 sparring – quickly flicks the pads into position – no long setups.
Awesome to see these clips !

To decide between the two gyms is just a matter of how much you want to pay.
Both are top quality gyms and both cater to beginners.
Personally i love Sitmonchai like crazy. But being an hour and a half out of Bangkok isn’t for everyone.
