Sam-A Destroys Some Pads And a Message For Kongsak

Purely AMAZINg jaw-dropping balls deep pad kicking! Here’s a video of Sam-A going Super Saiyan Dragon Ball Z style on some thai pads by kicking them 50 times in 22 secs. If this video doesn’t inspire you to get training, I don’t know what will. On May the 10th at Lumpinee there are some amazing superfights going down. One of them happens to Sam-A vs Kongsak. You’ll notice at the end of the video Sam-A gives Kongsak a friendly message of sorts.

Sam-A has always been a favourite of mine. A great technician, elusive and powerful. He has dominated his weight class and has to dip his feet into other classes to find any challenge. Usually training out of Buriram, he now has been doing quite a few stints training at the Petchyindee Gym (as seen in video) in front of Lumpinee Stadium. I’m not sure if this is a permanent thing yet or not.

Kongsak only recently became a favourite of mine. I didn’t like him at first because he beat up and bruised up Pornsenah’s arm last December while i was training with Pornsenah. But it’s hard not to recognize Kongsak’s achievements in Muay Thai at such a young age of 21. In the past year and a half he has clawed and willed his way to the top of the Muay Thai ranks. Slowly picking off the best of the best in his weight class, destroying many of them with ease. Kongsak’s style of fighting is called “Big Left Kick Indented Into Your Right Arm” style. His trademark strike is his left kick where he stamps his mark of authority upon his opponents. Most remember him weeks later when they see the purple of burst blood vessels on their arm.

Kongsak likes to keep out of the clinch and work his magic wand that is his kick. But when it comes to this fight, I don’t see Sam-A trying to get in too close. Kongsak will be the bigger of the two and is my pick for the fight, merely because i have enjoyed watching him fight live recently at Lumpinee. Other’s think Sam-A age and experience will help him out think and outsmart Kongsak. We will wait and see.

Born in Australia, training in martial arts since the age of 9. My first trip to Thailand was back in 2007. Since then i have made numerous visits back to the "land of smiles" to feed my addiction of Muay Thai. During the month of November in 2010 i had to decide between working a 9 to 5 job back home for the rest of my life, or sell all my worldly possessions and move to Thailand to live and train for the next few years. Thankfully i chose the latter. I now spend my time training Muay Thai, meeting new and interesting circles of people, sipping coconuts under palm trees on the beach and measuring the cost of everything on how much Pad Thai i could buy with that money.
