John Wayne Parr Is At 13 Coins

Wow, John Wayne Parr and I are instantly more connected now that we have trained at the same gym within a time gap of 5 months. It’s a unwritten rule, the unspoken law. I even post on the same forums as him. I believe this qualifies me to officially tell people that JWP and I know each other. I could even go as far as saying that we have met and trained side by side!? No I’m getting way ahead of myself now. Time to pull me back into reality.

The first person i saw when i entered the 13 Coins Gym was Orono. He asked Brock and I “where you from?”, we said “Struth mate, bloody Australia” in which Orono quickly replied with a growing smile “JOHN WAYNE PARR!!!!”. Looks like John Wayne Parr will be finding some nostalgia and join old friends during his training trip to 13 Coins. I caught a video of JWP doing pad rounds at 13 Coins today and noticed he only posted it up recently. Looks like he is spending 3 weeks there in preparation for his fight with Yodsaenklai Fairtex.

I like to think in my own little world that John Wayne Parr has gone to 13 Coins after checking out my review and Blog about the 13 Coins gym. It’s what this site was initially build on. If you Google 13 Coins Gym, depending on where you are in the world, you’ll most likely see my site on the first page. My 13 Coins Review Page is the second most viewed page on this site after my Fairtex Pattaya Part 1 Post (most likely old men looking for ladyboys). Since starting this site i’ve had numerous people email me to tell me that they have decided to travel to 13 Coins after reading my site. Even famous Muay Thai Photographer Tim Bowman told me he only decided to go there after reading my site, Shucks. So did John Wayne go to 13 Coins because of me? I like to think so and don’t want to ask him because it would ruin my little dream that I’m holding on to.

Enough about me and the site, let’s see some JWP action! Here’s a video of him with one of the best trainers at 13 Coins called Sorn. I never had the chance to do pads with him, but after speaking with most of the people at the gym, everyone agreed that they loved him. John Wayne Parr describes him as

Very exciting to see JWP training in Thailand again i must add. Hopefully he’ll learn a few tricks and smooth out his Muay Thai and come out guns blazing when he fights Yodsaenklai in October.

Born in Australia, training in martial arts since the age of 9. My first trip to Thailand was back in 2007. Since then i have made numerous visits back to the "land of smiles" to feed my addiction of Muay Thai. During the month of November in 2010 i had to decide between working a 9 to 5 job back home for the rest of my life, or sell all my worldly possessions and move to Thailand to live and train for the next few years. Thankfully i chose the latter. I now spend my time training Muay Thai, meeting new and interesting circles of people, sipping coconuts under palm trees on the beach and measuring the cost of everything on how much Pad Thai i could buy with that money.
