Guide To The Boon Shop Bangkok 2010

It’s a sweet little guide for first timers in Bangkok who want to get to Boon Shop on the cheap. It was kindly made by Matt my facebook friend, that’s right, i dont have time for real friends, i have a website to run damn it. He travels to Thailand at least once a year to get his annual dose of Muay Thai. A blight that i am very close to, the addiction that needs to be fed regularly once started. Matt has a great YouTube channel that’s just flooded with clips of Sinbi Muay Thai in Phuket.

First you get on any BTS stop and go to the money change counter. Tell them you want to go to On-Nut station. They will tell you how much it will cost and what zone you need to push on the ticket machine. From Nana to On Nut is 30 Baht. Take the coins to the ticket machine and push the zone, deposit the coins and take the ticket.

Go up stairs on the On-Nut side of the tracks.

Walk down the stairs to the motorbike taxi stand and tell them you want to go to Boon. If they don’t understand, just put your hands up in a fighters pose and say Muay. They will know what you mean. ( I love this part)

Born in Australia, training in martial arts since the age of 9. My first trip to Thailand was back in 2007. Since then i have made numerous visits back to the "land of smiles" to feed my addiction of Muay Thai. During the month of November in 2010 i had to decide between working a 9 to 5 job back home for the rest of my life, or sell all my worldly possessions and move to Thailand to live and train for the next few years. Thankfully i chose the latter. I now spend my time training Muay Thai, meeting new and interesting circles of people, sipping coconuts under palm trees on the beach and measuring the cost of everything on how much Pad Thai i could buy with that money.

Just returned from my trip to BKK (May 7, 2012). Prices have gone up across the board (8oz Velcro Gloves for 1100B, Shirts 300B, Wraps 300B). Still very good prices though. No bargaining or discounts regardless of purchase amount. If you’re going with 2 people or more, it’s probably easier to take a taxi from wherever you are. From Action Zone a cab was ~ 100B.

    • Mike (Admin) says:

      Sorry Karimi,

Boon is a brand in itself just like twins, raja and windy are and they are characterized by it’s flawless quality and brown coloured equipment.
The equipment they provide is amazing.
You’ll only find Boon brand there.
