Guide To Actionzone Muay Thai Shop
Posted in Articles, Buying Muay Thai Gear/Equipment on August 24, 2010
After letting me onto his fantastic Guide To Boon Shop Bangkok, Matt in another stroke of pure genius created a Guide To Actionzone Muay Thai Shop for the weary travelers looking for some refreshing Muay Thai gear.
If you follow this guide and buy from this shop I promise your Muay Thai skills will increase by the square root of thirteen plus the root of a tree, and you will most likely pop a boner that could kill a goose, probably . . .
Here is a easy guide to get to the Actionzone Muay Thai shop in Bangkok.
It is owned by a very nice lady who offers honest prices for authentic equipment. She speaks english very well, so call ahead if you want to check the inventory. They open at 9am sharp. I think the best deal in the whole shop are the ankle supports. They are only 90 baht for freesize Nationman.
78 Rama 1 Road
Rongmuang Patumwan
Bangkok 10330
Hop on the BST Skytrain and take it to National Stadium.
Take exit 2 towards National Stadium.
Walk past the National Stadium on your left.
Continue walking about 1 km (maybe less)
The first left after National Stadium has a FBT shop that is worth a look.
There are a few Muay Thai shops in this area, but they will rip you off with inflated prices. Just wait until you get to Actionzone.
Continue walking and you will pass a Tesco Lotus on the right. You’re almost there…
You will come to a major intersection. Becareful walking across. I was nearly hit by a cab while crossing this street. Likely because I was busy taking these photos with my phone. haha
After crossing the intersection, look directly ahead and you will see a green Actionzone sign.
Actionzone is packed wall to wall with equipment, shorts, and anything else you might need.
And there you go. Matt has gone out of his way and looked like a crazy man taking pictures of signs just to help out the Muay Thai scene.
Well done Matt.

hello,
i like your website but i just went to action zone this morning and i think i just had the worst experience i’ve had in bangkok this year (i live here).
To start with, i asked to look at the shorts. They were folded and packed in plastic and attached together by 7-8. She didn’t answer and just gave me a 3 years old twins magazine. I asked again if i could look at the shorts, not at a magazine. She gave me a stack of short…i was about to untie them to look at it one by one because there was no way i could see how the shorts look like, she said no no no and took everything back and she went back behind the counter and sat down……..
When i asked the prices of the twins shorts, they were from 439 to 689, which are the exact same prices that i pay at the lumpini stadium at the small twins shop where the old lady is cold as f… but at least she shows you everything and does her job.
I live in bangkok and i’ll never put a foot again in this shop…
Hi Ben,
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience at actionzone, this isn’t usually the response i get from people who have visited the place. Usually the old lady is extremely nice and easy to work with. Oh and i know what you mean by the women who owns the twins store at Lumpinee. She has the most steely look in the world.
Others have found Actionzone i great place to shop.
If you have a look at http://www.mymuaythai.com/archives/shopping/ near the bottom of the comments, a lot of people have had a good shopping experience there.
“its been a while since Iv been but this shop is brilliant.Small but cheapest place me and my mates have found in bkk.She stocks her own brand, twins and top king for the most part, its really easy to get to and the lady who is in shop is really nice, always gives me free stuff and bottles of water and sweets while your choosing stuff!!!Always given me a good discount on bigger purchases aswell. She use to do really good price on custom shorts aswell.

Maybe she wasn’t having a good day and in the end, you can’t please everyone.
Hi there,
I’ll be in Bangkok later in the year and want to do some shopping, can you tell me if actionzone stock heavybags too? I’d like to get a couple of unfilled ones
Cheers
Had a great experience here. Excellent prices on Twins gloves and shin guards, as well as Top King shin guards. I checked the Twins stores in Chiang Mai and at Lumphini, as well as quite a few smaller shops and Action Zone was by far the best. No haggling required and she even threw in a free towel in addition to the water. Thanks for the info!
Awesome. Glad you found it and enjoyed the place!
I went to Actionzine yesterday and bought a Fairtex Bowling Pin shaped bag for 2070 baht. Top King shins for 1050 baht, and a bunch of anklets.
The lady also let me take photos of her Top King, Twins, and Fairtex catalogs with all of the prices
Expect an update to this post soon!
Matt
Hey Matt, that’s great. We’d love a new and improved update on he store.
Thanks for the contribution!
Can’t wait to see it. Keep us posted
Hey this site is AWESOME.
I met this canadian lady training at Sor Vorapin and she also recommended ActionZone.
So decided to go check it out. The little old lady, Ariya, was really really nice. Looked at the shorts in the catalog (Twins, Top King, Fairtex), then i would ask for a size to try on. She didn’t mind at all, i just went in the back. I tried on about 4 pairs, and i bought 2. I was pretty excited about these Top King Dragon Over The Place shorts, and i got my name stitched on the back!
I also wanted these fairtex shinpads that she didn’t have in stock, so she told me that she would order then and to come back in 5 days.
So i picked them up 5 days later!
I must have been in there for about 1 1/2hr looking at stuff. She was very nice and very accommodating.
Not much room for bargaining, but she did throw in a towel
Also, if you’re staying in Khaosan, you can take the #15 bus for 7bath and it will drop you off right across the street from it.
Going to check out the Boon store tomorrow!
Thank you very much. Your site has made my little shopping trip in Bangkok so much easier!
How much did you pay for shorts?
It depends what brand and size of shorts you get.
Check here to get a basic idea
http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f16/actionzone-shop-bkk-price-list-fairtex-twins-king-1651137/
Mike is right, it depends on the brand and on the size.
My Top King shorts were i think 800B. But i’m 6’4″ so i got XL.
That doesn’t include the discount, which i guess is based on how good you are. I’m not sure if the stitching is included, but she didn’t charge me for it. Most of the nice shorts in the catalogs were between 600-850.
The pics that Matt posted on Sherdog are right off her catalog. If she doesn’t have what’s in the catalog, she can order it for you. She said that it usually take about a week.
Just be nice to her, chat her up, and she’ll be very nice to you.
A.
Does any kind souls who have been there before know if they have Windy products too? Thanks..
I went there 2 days ago based on advice from this website and I definitely had the best shopping experience of my Thailand trip. The lady was very nice, always smiling and gave me a 1100 baht discount bases on the prices in the magazines, it was so good I didn’t even consider bartering and gave her a tip. Definitely going there anytime I’m in bkk
Just got back from Bangkok over the weekend! Checked out 2 shops for Muay Thai stuff.. Sports Marketing and ActionZone..
sports marketing – nothing to shout about.. the shopkeeper just showed whatever was in the catalouges.. and nothing much else.. didnt buy any stuff and walked further down the street to Action zone!!!
Action zone – the lady was really nice and accomodating.. i asked to see white gloves and she gladly took out a few designs she had.. in the end settled for Blue Twins Glvoes with gold dragon print (i cant remember the individual prices, but i know i recently bought a pair of Hayabusa gloves and they cost me SGD$120, so whatever the price was.. it must have been a whole lot cheaper.. as i couldn;t stop smiling) bought 3 pairs of shorts (Fairtex, Twins & their in house brand) + 2 duvit skipping ropes + Twins Wraps.. in all i paid THB 1,350 or about SGD$140.. a bloody steal if you ask me!!!
Oh not to forget the friendly lady offered my mate & i bottles of cold water.. very very welcomed on a very very hot morning!!
Will definitely go there again!!
Do they carry Raja gear at all?
Don’t think i saw any there. For Raja gear you can go to Rajadamnern Stadium. It’s open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday i believe
