Elite Boxing Rob Cox Interview

eb logo Elite Boxing Rob Cox Interview

I’ve followed a few of the Elite Boxing YouTube videos since they have been in Thailand lately covering some events, stadiums and meeting up with the who’s who of Muay Thai.

One video that’s sparked my interest enough to post was this one that follows Rob Cox to his Muay Thai Training Camp in Bangkok and then follows him on a usual day at work which consists of hanging out at his Muay Thai gym and going to Muay Thai stadiums to watch some of the greatest fights in the world. Talk about a dream job. How do you get an awesome gig like that?

Elite Boxing interviews Rob about what got him stared in Muay Thai and coming to Thailand, how he ended up owning a gym and what he does on a day to day basis. It show’s some great behind the scenes to his job and lets us have a sneak peek at his gym in Bangkok.

It’s great to see all this stuff, but i have one problem. I hate the host. I hate him to death. The guy is so annoying. Does anyone else think he is?

Born in Australia, training in martial arts since the age of 9. My first trip to Thailand was back in 2007. Since then i have made numerous visits back to the "land of smiles" to feed my addiction of Muay Thai. During the month of November in 2010 i had to decide between working a 9 to 5 job back home for the rest of my life, or sell all my worldly possessions and move to Thailand to live and train for the next few years. Thankfully i chose the latter. I now spend my time training Muay Thai, meeting new and interesting circles of people, sipping coconuts under palm trees on the beach and measuring the cost of everything on how much Pad Thai i could buy with that money.

Elite boxings videos are “ha sib, ha sib”, mostly the bad music and super annoying host!.. I mean from a business point of view why would they hire him or not see that he doesn’t entertain ppl!?!.. Rob Cox is a legend and he is what inspired me to make the move to Thailand, I hope I will be in the same position in life as he is in 5 years from now.

      Hey Danny,

Your doing a good job with the video’s your getting out.

Totally agree with you. I’m not really on board with the host. He’s a bit awkward and annoying. Not digging the funky music they use either.
Nice to see them do some coverage in Thailand though.

Rob’s a stand up guy. Every time i see him in the stadiums he’s always up for a chat.

Thanks Mike, Im looking to take my vidz to another level, I would LOVE to just be a Muay Thai video journalist but thats not going to make me the $$ I need to survive and live out here.
But as Rob Cox did you have to start somewhere and hope it leads to better things. Yeah its good to see Muay Thai getting more exposure I just hope the exposure wont effect the Muay Thai art and its tradition’s.

By the way saw your latest vid., great work!.. We should team up for a big event and make a blockbuster!….email me

        cheers,

        danny
